More form The Game Awards, this time for Hideo Kojima’s new project, OD.
You never quite know what’s coming from the mind of an auteur like Hideo Kojima. After The Game Awards 2023 we’re both more informed and more confused at the same time. The name behind the likes of Death Stranding announced his latest game, titled ‘OD.; The reveal dropped with a creepy new trailer and the expectation that it tests the limits of your fear threshold. Definitely not one for the Wholesome Games showcase.
Developed by Kojima Productions and partnered with Xbox games Studios, this upcoming fear fest is supposed to blur the boundaries of film and game. It has roped in award winning filmmaker Jordan Peele, the director of “Get Out,” “Us,” and “Nope, who will contribute towards the story that the team will tell.
“We are working with Xbox Game Studios and their cloud gaming technology to take on the challenge of creating a very unique, immersive, and totally new style of game – or rather, a new form of media,” said Hideo Kojima, Game Creator and Founder of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS.
The new teaser for this title also dropped, introducing two of the leads for the full game. While it doesn’t actually do much more than confuse the hell out of me, it does confirm we will find Sophia Lillis (“Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”), Hunter Schaffer (“Euphoria”) and Udo Kier (“Flesh for Frankenstein”), in the primary roles for this one. If you want to be as confused as I was, check out the trailer above and head over to the official OD website for more on Kojima’s new game.
