Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is about to bring a whole new era of adventure to Nintendo Switch as it arrives on the Nintendo platform in Spring 2020.
Confirmed by publisher NIS America, the news that Trails of Cold Steel III is coming to the massively successful handheld console is big new for on the go gamers. This is the very first Legends of Heroes game to make its way onto the Nintendo Switch and brings a classic series to gamers everywhere. A direct sequel to the Trails of Cold Steel II game, this originally hit Japanese shelves back in 2017 as a Playstation 4 title. Since then, it has gone worldwide and spawned even more follow-ups.
Like other Trails of Cold Steel titles, this game follows the fate of the main character Rean Schwarzer. In this setting, he is a military professor at the most prestigious academy in the Erebonian Empire. Alongside his friends and cohorts, his efforts to build a stable future for the realm and its citizens are about to go to waste as other factions threaten to pull the fragile peace apart and stick players right in the middle of the action. Filled with traditional JRPG encounters, this title allows the player to build a team of capable warriors and take on a range of turn-based battles or boss encounters. As players work their way through the narrative they will encounter a variety of systems developed for Trails of Cold Steel III. Adventurers will be able to make use of a Brave Order system to get party-wide buffs during combat and follow up with Link Attacks that rely on comrades to follow up with devastating combos. All these systems are intended to make team selection more than just a simple reskin and make them feel genuinely impactful on the battlefield.
