Legends Of Runeterra Adds Wibbly Wobbly Timewinder Gauntlets

Legends of Runeterra, the Riotous card battler, is about to kick off a brand new patch by dropping in Timewinder Gauntlets.

The latest LoR patch notes have some interesting changes in store for Riot’s own deck battler. The name behind this League of Legends spin off has just dropped notes of the upcoming 3.20.0 patch and players are likely to notice a few some experimental changes. Gauntlets, the match type not the wearable ones, will change up the way some battels are played. New Timewinder gauntlets will throw competitors into a be Best-of-3 Pick and Ban Format, using 3 decks with different champions and region combinations. What makes these decks interesting is their constituent cards. These will be built using limited card pools that allow you to go back in time and enjoy earlier seasons. Four different card pools will be on offer across 24 November 2022 – 20 January 2023.:

● Foundations – 24 November – 21 December
This Gauntlet will throw you back to when it all began! You’ll only be able to deck build with cards that are part of Foundations.

● Rising Tides Gauntlet – 22 December – 4 January
This gauntlet tosses you back in time, you’ll be able to deck build with cards that were released either before or during Rising Tides.

● Call of the Mountain – 5 January – 15 January
This gauntlet lets you relive the climb to Targon’s peak and the release of one of our most iconic dragons. You’ll be able to deck build with cards that were released either before or during the Call of the Mountain.

● Standard – 16 January – 20 January
This gauntlet will return to the standard Pick & Ban Best-of-3 format.

While you’re busy enjoying a slice of the god old days, you’ll be able to work your way towards some rewards too. Players able to make it to 7 victories out of 9, only loosing 2 games at most, will find a Gold Ranked Icon from the corresponding season.

For anybody who is waiting for a new round of competitive matches, there’s plenty of time to take a look t the latest Dev Snapshot video above before things kick off on 28/29 January 2023. You can check out everything that’s to come over on the official Legends of Runeterra website now.
