Season: A Letter to the Future developer, Scavangers, is eager to introduce the voices behind this gorgeous indie adventure.
Season: A Letter to the Future might very well be on my game of the year list already, but it’s hard to explain exactly how impactful this mix of emotional storytelling and reflection is. So, the team behind this title has released a new featurette, introducing the cast behind the story and how this change of seasons impacted them.
The eight-minute video not only introduces the voice cast behind the on-screen characters, but delves into their connection with the unusual title, the individuals that they inhabit, and tells unfamiliar players a little more about what makes the game special. For those that have watched the trailers or read the blurb, the real-life people behind Poros, Estelle’s Dad, and the central protagonist Estelle are all featured. This includes more than just a biography, with Russell Yuen commenting on more than just brining Poros to life.
“I’ve worked on multiple video games since I’ve been in the industry for 32 years. When I picked up the breakdown and I started reading through it, I didn’t quite understand the concept at first. And then I started reading the lines for the audition and I was just like “Wait a second, it feels like a moment of life.” Well, this game is like a good book where you just wanna know what happens next. It felt much more than just a game, it felt like capturing a moment of time.”
