Krafton and Unknown Worlds have announced that Moonbreaker has entered Steam early access. Unknown Worlds previously developed the popular Subnautica series and brings a unique take to the turn-based tabletop tactics genre. The team is vested in bringing a true digital miniatures experience to PC via an expansive sci-fi universe. Most interestingly, the universe has been created by bestselling author Brandon Sanderson. Players can join early access by purchasing the game on Steam for $29.99.
Moonbreaker features include –
- Turn-based strategy with neverending varieties. Players lead their troops into battle and use strategic moves to be victorious.
- Collect units and build rosters. Players can unlock new Crew and Captains through gameplay and will have access to 50+ Units.
- Real digital miniatures that offer players the look and feel of true tabletop gaming.
- Customization through painting tools, custom palettes, finishes, and painting tools
- Skill evolution
Players can also experience the world Brandon Sanderson created through “Moonbreaker: Tales From the Reaches,” a special podcast series written by New York Times best-selling author Dan Wells. Players can now listen to the first episode, “Extilior’s Story,” in-game or on digital podcast platforms. These Audio Dramas will transport listeners to various locations across the Reaches – a tiny solar system with moons held in orbit by a scarce resource called Cinder – as they learn more about the game’s key characters and world. Moonbreaker’s Audio Dramas will feature many twists and turns as they tell an engaging long-form story that will unfold over many years. A total of three Audio Dramas will be released throughout Moonbreaker’s inaugural season with additional Audio Dramas planned for each subsequent season.
