Avatar: The Last Airbender – Netflix Highlights the Art of Bending

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender is out now, and it is time to learn some bending. Following a video dedicated to bringing various ATLA creatures to life, the team also gave viewers a glimpse at the art of bending. If you’ve wondered how the team managed to make bending look so realistic and full of energy, check out the video above.

The showrunners and actors go into detail as to how they made the process look different and unique for each element. The team also shared their inspirations.

“Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Here’s how the visual effects and stunts team brought all four elements to life through the art of bending.”

Already through binge-watching the new ATLA live-action, and there is entirely not enough Avatar in your life still, consider checking out F. C. Yee’s Chronicles of the Avatar book series. At the moment, it consists of four entries. The first two are dedicated to Kyoshi and her predecessor Kuruk, while the other two delve into the life of the previous Air Nomad Avatar: Yangchen. Randy Ribay is currently working on a new entry: The Reckoning of Roku, arriving this Summer.

Of course, there is always the original animated series and the free-to-play Avatar Generations. Let us know your Avatar-related plans in the comments below while the world waits for NATLA Season 2.
