Palworld is Rapidly Taking Over Steam

The unexpected sandbox survival hit Palworld continues its relentless assault on Steam. In just four day since the game’s release into Early Access, it was already purchased by over 6 million pal tamers, and it doesn’t intend to stop there. In addition to the overall number of purchases, Palworld also topped the most recent Steam chart and showed an overwhelming number of concurrent online players.

The game managed to peak at over 1.7 million concurrent players, beating both Lost Ark and Dota 2 and coming very close to the all-time peak of Counter-Strike 2. In addition to PC via Steam & Microsoft Store, the game is also available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass.

So, what’s the deal with Palworld? The developers describe their creation as a monster-catching, survival and crafting game, but incorporates a variety of mechanics from other genres in order to provide a completely new experience for everyone. The game manages to offer something to enjoy to vastly different groups of people, from casuals looking for a new sandbox to get lost in, to Pokemon enjoyers, hardworking crafters, and more.

Palworld just entered its Early Access stage, and the developers are already hard at work ironing out the bugs and working on player feedback. The team from Pocketpair mentioned planning to incorporate various additional elements, focusing on adding new content and balance adjustments where needed.

“The addition of new monsters to further the Pal roster, new areas and dungeons to make exploration even more enjoyable, and the addition of new buildings and items that make the survival elements more pronounced and enjoyable, making the unique Palworld experience even more appealing. We are considering content to target. We are also considering incorporating entirely new game systems based on player feedback and ideas.”
