Rare’s multiplayer game Sea of Thieves sailed into full release a week ago. Since then the developers have been hard at work patching and fixing unexpected errors as well as introducing changes according to the players’ feedback. One such change is the removal of death tax feature that the team planned to add in a future update.
One piece of additional feedback we’ve seen is around a proposed change listed in our release notes last week, and we’ve heard the sentiment there, so I can confirm that Death Cost is, well, dead. Thanks for the feedback here. We’re listening.
For all you pirates out there, make sure your ship is in a safe position as much as you can as not to risk all your hard-earned cargo sink because of an unfortunate disconnect like this player and his 9 hours worth of booty.
