Developer Lavapotion has taken to Steam to share the new roadmap for the turn-based strategy Songs of Conquest. In addition to a variety of upcoming updates and features that will be added to the game, the team also revealed the release window: end of Q3 2023!
In the Steam post, the team stresses that the Roadmap is a living document and plans might change as things move forward. However, the things listed are the key elements towards the full release of the game. The developers also plan on introducing certain AI improvements such as the enhanced strategic reasoning, Wielder management, adventure map interactions, battle, Town building & difficulty parameters.
Let’s quickly go over what the game will receive between now and the full release:
Q1 2023:
- The long-awaited artifact marketplace feature is getting added;
- The team is improving the Beacons so Wielders will be able to use them as portals and travel across the adventure map;
- Players will also be able to upgrade troops on the recruitment screen to speed up the entire process;
- More skirmish maps of varying sizes will be added continuously throughout the year;
- Rana random events;
- Last but not least, finalization of map editor.
Q2 2023:
- Barony of Loth campaign introduction. This third campaign is dedicated to necromancers;
- Brand new units and abilities for factions as well as more hostile neutral units;
- Loth random events, even more skirmish maps;
- Co-op (teams) skirmish gameplay;
- Netcode improvements.
Q3 2023:
- The fourth campaign is dedicated to Barya, the mercenaries, scientists and contract-following merchants, comes with Barya random events;
- Campaign creation support for even more replayability;
- Even more skirmish maps and artifacts;
- Netcode improvements;
- Achievements!
- Version 1.0 release.
