Most video games drum up hype with trailers, award shows, and demos. Instead, 110 industries is promoting Wanted Dead with an entire video game. Players looking for something to p[ass the time between now and Wanted Dqead’s release window can jump into a 16-bit space mech and power off into the outer reaches of retro space to go all twin stick. Inspired by the arcade classics of yesteryear, this faithful recreation of eighties coin-op arcades was originally devised as a mini-game for Wanted: Dead, but the developer behind the game went all in and built a fully fledged game.
Now, PC gamers can download the title for no money down. This free-to-play shooter puts players in control of the experimental XR-110 mech. Developed by the maverick Dr. Lincoln Maverick, it is the only weapon that could possibly threaten the evil Toliman Empire. Only you, playing as Lt. Landers, can survive an attack and overthrow this nefarious kingdom of doom.
Despite escaping the pull of its initial incarnation, Space Runaway will appear in the full release of Wanted: Dead when it blasts onto PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on 14 February 2023. Wanted: Dead is a homage to the sixth generation of gaming consoles. Brought to bear by some of the talent behind Ninja Gaiden, this upcoming hack, slash, and shoot takes players into a near future neo Hong Kong to root out the criminal underworld with extreme prejudice and a very cool bit of swordplay.
