Starship Troopers: Extermination Relentless Hordes Update Goes on the Attack

Starship Troopers: Extermination

Starship Troopers: Extermination Relentless Hordes lands today and the Update 0.4.0 is about to engage in Horde Mode.

Nobody quits until their dead in the Mobile Infantry, so its no surprise that the latest update to Starship Troopers co-op shooter from Offworld Industries is about to go full Hard Mode. Announced today, the 0.4.0, or second major update to this title, is aimed at adding new features and substantial additions to the core gameplay experience.

Horde mode is the most obvious of these new mission objectives. Plunging players into an intense fight for survival against swarms of enemies that gradually increase in difficulty. While you’ll have the opportunity to fortify your defences with the likes of the machine gun emplacement, you’ll end up with alien bugs everywhere. Only the toughest marines will survive this onslaught.

Like plenty of other instanced combat titles, Starship Troopers: Exterminate has a ton of progression, giving volunteers plenty of ways to thwart an alien menace and plenty to play for over the long term. Now, a new set of stat tracking and player profile options provides feedback on your performance. Total kills, revives, deaths, wins, losses, and extractions all make their way onto this display, with more due to arrive soon.

While it might not sound as extensive as previous updates, Horde Mode is likely to keep target friendly Vanguard busy for some time while Early Access rolls towards a full release. If you haven’t heard of this Starship Troopers spin off then there’s still plenty of time to get on the front lines. This play on the iconic sci-fi movie drops advanced space trooper on a planet full of alien insectoid and proceeds to pit human ingenuity and ammunition against the never-ending insect hordes. If you think you’ve got what it takes, Starship Troopers: Extermination is available in Steam Early Access now.
