Steelrising, the steampunk replay of the french revolution, jsut got a shiny new gameplay trailer.
Nacon and Spiders just dropped a gleaming new gameplay trailer for Steelrising and, like clockwork, we’re bringing it to you. The new look at the fantastical upcoming RPG drops viewers into the role of Aegis, the master chief automaton of Eugene Vaucauson, an engineer working for Louis XVI. Watching along, potential players will get to see 5 minutes of gameplay as they traverse a level and engage in combat. As the game wanders through the workshop of Vaucanson, we get to see where the automatons that make up the king’s army are invented. Confronted with several types of mobs, Aegis can select her weapons and objects to try to defeat each enemy.
We’re not going to ruin all of the trailer but this mix of the historical setting and brass plated contraptions feels distinctly Dishonored, but with its own vibe.
While Steelrising is clearly not meant to be historically accurate, players will gouge their way through the storming of the Bastille and the start of the fall of the Monarchy. Steelrising shows us an alternative take on this period of time and an action adventure that is slick with historical context. Whether you put down the revolution or stab the king in the back, that’s all up to you. Steelrising is due to clock in on the 8th of September 2022 on PC and consoles.
