Street Fighter Just Turned Into A Mobile RPG

Street Fighter Duel is about to take on a beloved arcade classic in a very new way, turning Capcom’s icon into a mobile RPG.

Forget cheesing your friends by button bashing E. Honda or throwing endless Shoryuken, Street Fighter is about to take a more considered tactical turn when Street Fighter Duel smashes onto iOS an Android devices. Just announced by publisher A Plus Japan, this upcoming tournament arc is already taking pre registrations and might be an interesting twist on the established IP.

Players picking up the upcoming incarnation of this worldwide phenomenon will likely get a mild mix of character collection and lightweight turn-based strategy. Reuniting with the likes of Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li! Any eager warriors will find themselves back in iconic locations. You’ll be able to fight through familiar backdrops, such as the airfield, bathhouse, and night scene while making your way through the game’s story arc. Along the way it seems clear that the game will also include character collection, training, upgrades, and plenty of the party led gameplay that features in games like Epic Seven. If you overcome this tournament then PVP will feature too, giving players an opportunity to take down friends and competitors.

Free Loot

With pre-registration open, all you’ll have to do to put a name down is pop over to the official website. Both iOS and Android owners can grab an Avatar Frame, 20 Gems, 8888 x Game Cash, and a free fighter pull for getting in early. Additional rewards rely on additional registrations, with Fragments, Gems, Game Cash, Arcade Tokens, and EXP Boosts on offer if the game tops a million pre registrations.

It seems that this might be a bit more taxing that spamming leg sweep, but you’ll still be able to trash your friends at Street Fighter on a brand-new platform. Find out more on the official website now.
