Talking Tom Turns 10 And Launches POK-A-TOM

Talking Tom, the long-running virtual pet series from Outfit 7, is turning ten and the team behind it are about to celebrate with a brand new POK-A-TOM event.

Originally launched back in July 2010, the very first Talking Tom game introduced players to a cheeky feline protagonist and an interactive pet simulator that riffed on the Tamagotchi concept of the 1990s. Now, a decade on, and a fiar leap forward in processing power, that Talking Tom title proved a huge success. It spawned around 13 billion game downloads across 23 mobile titles. To celebrate, the decade of pet fun, Outfit7, the team behind the series, has decided to launch the POK-A-TOM event. Don’t worry, it’s not a pet battle simulator, but it could earn you some seriously good loot if you are a fan of the series.

Celebration Time

Taking place across four of the most popular Talking Tom titles, fans will be able to continue playing Talking Tom Cat, My Talking Tom, My Talking Tom 2, and My Talking Tom Friends in the hopes of winning some prizes. If, before the end of the even, 10 billion pokes are achieved then players will grab a generous in-game currency bundle.

“Fans have poked Tom almost too many times to count since 2010,” said Xinyu Qian, CEO of Outfit7. “Over 400 million fans play with the games every month, so we wanted them to be included in the celebration by doing more of what they love – and getting fun rewards to enjoy with Tom in return!”

If you need to check in on the community progress, you’ll find a digital “POK-A-METER” on the Outfit7 website. The POK-A-TOM event is already on the go and runs between event from July 20 to July 30, 2020.
