Developer Slipgate Ironworks and publishers THQ Nordic & 3D Realms have announced classic real-time strategy Tempest Rising during the THQ Nordic showcase two weeks ago. The events of the game take place in a alternative history war scenario that pits three factions against each other in desperate struggle for power and resources.
After the Cuban Missile Crisis escalated in 1997, a nuclear World War 3 ensured. All former superpowers were quickly brought to their knees in humanity’s shortest and most devastating conflict yet. The fuel for this war is a new, powerful substance, that can be used as a source of energy – Tempest.
During Gamescom 2022, the developers have been on hand to share the footage of the first mission with developer commentary by Game Director Fred and Producer Malthe. Over the 40 minutes-long playthrough, they also answer a variety of questions from fans as they guide the viewers through the mission.
