The Assassin's Creed Franchise is Free to Play This Weekend

Ubisoft has announced that the Assassin’s Creed franchise is free to play throughout the coming weekend. From August 10th to August 14th, players can download and play Valhalla, Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations. In addition, all Assassin’s Creed titles are on sale for up to 85% off normal prices. All progress made by players during the free play weekend will be retained if the game is purchased.

Developers have released a new trailer to showcase the epic adventures players can take off on during the event.

Platform conditions

  • Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S – All five games are available to Gold subscribers throughout the weekend. Sales offer a buy-one-get-two-free offer on select games and through August 15th, Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla and their DLC are up to 70% off.
  • PC – All of the games are available to download and play via Ubisoft Connect and Valhalla is available on Epic Games Store. Origins and Odyssey are up to 85% off from the Ubisoft Store through August 17th.
  • PlayStation – Valhalla is available for PS4 and PS5 throughout the weekend. The Ezio Collection and Black Flag are available with PS Plus Extra. Players can leverage up to 85% off Origins, Valhalla, and other AC games through August 30th.

During the free weekend, players will have access to all of the Standard Edition content in each game. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you’ll be able to swing a pair of axes (or any other weapon, really) as the Viking warrior Eivor, and establish a new home for your people in ninth-century England. In Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, you’ll play through three tales of conspiracy and revenge as Ezio Auditore da Firenze in Renaissance-era Florence, Venice, Rome, and Constantinople. And Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will set you loose to explore the Caribbean and plunder ships as the freewheeling pirate-turned-Assassin Edward Kenway, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Blackbeard and Anne Bonney.

Players can also unlock in-game rewards by watching Twitch livestreams. Check out the Twitch Drops and Rewards page for the details.
