Bethesda just unleashed the most fearsome of creatures on Doom fans. With a new Doom Slayer Skin that is utterly glorious. Meet the Doomicorn!
The Doomicorn is a brand new skin for players of the upcoming Doom title, from Bethesda. Revealed in a trailer just hours ago, this new attire is the result of a collaboration between publisher Bethesda and video game streaming service Twitch. From the tip of the unicorn horn that sits proudly aloft the traditional Doomslayer’s combat helmet to the bright pink boot, and winged backpiece this version of the Doom armor isn’t exactly going to go unnoticed. The unusual color scheme even comes with its very own clip-clop emote that players who grab the skin can use in PvP matches, because why not.
The purple and white variant that features in the trailer is one of two variants that come bundled together. Both the Night-Mare, and Purple Pony feature some awsome extras too:
• ‘Magic Meadow’ Base Podium
• ‘For Those Who Dare to Dream!’ Maxed-Out Podium
• ‘Clip Clop’ Stance Animation
• ‘Haymaker’ Intro Animation
• ‘Horsing Around’ Victory Animation
• ‘Love Conquers All’ Player Icon
• ‘Super Sparkle Slayer’ Nameplate & Title
This new skin is one of several different outfits that the Doomslayer, the new Doom game’s main character, can equip. While gamers have become accustomed to grabbing these types of cosmetic upgrades in exchange for cash, Doom Eternal is a bit more old school about things. Creative Director, Hugo Martin, recently confirmed that the title will not contain a cash shop and players can grab skins through in-game XP. In this case, the new Unicorn outfit is even easier to grab, for twitch subscribers.
Twitch Subscribes, that being anybody who currently pays Twitch or Amazon for a prime sub, can ensure they have this skin for the Doom Eternal launch by linking their Bethesda and Twitch accounts. Players who do this can then grab the bundle of skins between March 20 and April 21. Head over to the Amazon website for a full list of Twitch Prime loot available and keep your eyes here for more Doom Eternal news when the game hits PC and console next week.
