The Lord of the Rings Gollum - First Details Revealed in Edge Magazine

Daedalic Entertainment together with Middle-Earth Enterprises and The Saul Zaentz Company have announced The Lord of the Rings: Gollum last March. Back then we knew next to nothing about the mysterious new project besides an interesting name. In the latest issue of Edge magazine, the developers unveiled the first details of the game, describing it as a “stealth-action adventure with an intriguing dual-personality mechanic, gigantic levels, and a densely wrought aesthetic inspired by Tolkien’s own drawings”.

“You already have that big conflict in the character, two voices talking to you continuously, which means there is a good reason there are decisions to make in the game: the Smeagol decisions or the Gollum decision,” Daedelic CEO Carsten Fichtelmann told The Hollywood Reporter.

The game is slated to arrive in 2021 for PC and “all relevant console platforms at that time”. You can find out more in Edge 341, now available for purchase.

The next few years might prove to be pleasing for the fans of The Lord of the Rings between Gollum, Amazon’s MMO and prequel series.
