Wayfinder version 0.2 has arrives and unwrapped an Eventide full of seasonal events.
Wayfinder, the Early Access MNMO from Airship Syndicate, has unveiled its first set of seasonal updates in version 0.2. Called ‘Eventide2, this new update is available now for players ready to face the on the Gloom and give the darkness more than a lump of coal. The latest update bundles in over 2,000 fixes and adjustments, an Awakening System, Character reworks, a new questline, wintery events, a new Boss event, a seasonal expedition, and plenty of cheer.
Make and Mend
Before you even experience the solstice vibes of Eventide, version 0.2 drops more than a sack full of fixes. The latest update to Wayfinder incorporates improvements to nearly every system in the game. These include:
- Server & client performance gains
- UI updates
- 5 brand new weapons to earn in-game
- Reworks of Senja and all ranged weapons
- Awaken Wayfinders, by empowering them with increased stats and echo capacity while breaking past the level 30 cap
- Combat and movement changes
- The ability to use XP Caches to level alts faster
- Exclusive new cosmetics earned in-game
The awakening system is one of the major endgame inclusions, meaning that after reaching maximum level, Players can collect & craft Awakening Stones to add increased echo capacity, a buff to all of their stats on Wayfinders and Weapons, as well as over-levelling their Equipment Level to equip level 30+ accessories. While that is a major boon for long term players, the rest of us can make do with new weapons, new inventory changes to make life generally easier, cool new sound effects, a weapon dye system, and mor than I can possibly cram into this post. If you haven’t had a chance to buy in to Early Access yet, this is potentially as great time to do so, when you can catch up using the XP caches.
Eventide
Like many other merry MMORPGs, Wayfinder now has a winter event. Eventide might not be the snappiest of names to the uninitiated, but it brings plenty of new content to the world for free. Over four weeks, players can head to the Eventide Vale and check out what’s landed. This event features a brand-new quest chain, a new event boss, a seasonal expedition and dozens of challenges that players can complete to earn Revel Rubies which can then be exchanged for exclusive and festive cosmetics!
All of this comes at a time when developer Airship Syndicate takes full control of this new title. After impressing us on early previews and beta testing events, the team overcame initial launch troubles and parted ways with publisher Digital Extremes. While that might sound ominous, Airship Syndicate seem to be focused on improving a game that mixes MMO systems, cool aesthetic, a great combat system, and lots of loot into a winning formula.
