Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the next World of Warcraft expansion is coming in November. Players will be able to dive into Dragonflight starting November 28, 2022. The expansion comes with a number of new and improved features as well as the new Dracthyr race.
As an incentive for players to get their main characters and alts prepared for Dragonflight, the Winds of Wisdom XP buff will begin on October 4th. It will run through the release of Dragonflight and offers players a +50% bonus experience boon.
Players will discover the Dragon Isles and explore four new zones—each themed around and revealing more about the ancient dragon aspects—all lovingly crafted by the World of Warcraft development team for veteran and new players alike. As the Dragon Isles awaken, so too do long-forgotten secrets, and players will traverse land and sky as they explore what the Dragon Isles has to offer.
Other features of the expansion include:
- the Dracthyr race with two available classes
- Dragonriding that allows players to train their own drake to soar through the skies over the Dragon Isles
- Millions of customization options for drakes to allow players to create their own unique appearance
- the new talent system that hearkens back to an earlier era in WoW with its skill trees
- the updated profession system that offers players a way to “hone their craft”
- HUD and UI system updates to allow for better customization of screen space
- level cap increase to 70
When the expansion launches on November 28th, players will be able to head into any one of eight dungeons. Four additional dungeons will be added before the end of the expansion. The first raid will be unlocked on all difficulty levels on December 13th.
Players can pre-order the base edition ($49.99), Heroic edition ($69.99), and Epic edition ($89.99). Each digital edition contains its own set of in-game goodies.
