Qooland Games has announced a huge Soulmask open beta test, running from 1 May to 10 May 2024 on PC. The upcoming survival epic will unlock a massive global test and all players have to do to jump in is head over to the official Steam Store page to put their names down.
The latest chance to experience the world of Soulmask comes hot on the heels of a huge 40-hour Steam Next Fest demo, which clocked in more than 470,000 hours of game time. The latest phase of testing will unlock even more of this vast world. Taking the place of an escaped sacrifice, anybody leaping into the fray will do more than simply chop wood and build a homestead. Blessed with a mysterious mask, players will grapple for survival in a primitive land steeped in mysterious faiths. Mixing mysticism with the harsh reality of survival, players must first learn to avoid nature’s wrath before ascending to greatness. Stay at the top of the food chain, a chain of realistically recreated creatures and potential human adversaries. Tackling these threats utilizes a physics-based combat system, Soulmask unlocked 8 weapon types and 67 skills, allowing players to customize their own fighting style, but this isn’t a solo mission.
Masks are at the core of this unique adventure, allowing players to control most of the NPCs in the game world – possess them, take over their bodies, and transform into anyone. Gather followers, build a town, and dabble in tribal warfare, or simply go solo and embody the spirit of ancient heroes when required. It’s fair to say that the scope of this title is vast.
