Genshin Impact, the massive online RPG from HoYoverse, is about to go Gwent with its own in-game card game.
If you’ve caught up with HoyoVerse social feeds in the last few hours, you might already know that the team behind this massive anime-inspired adventure is going all Witcher on us. Players will soon be able to start playing an in-game TCG called Genius Invokation.
The new feature is set to deal out casual gameplay as part of the Version 3.3 update and will become a permanent addition to the Teyvat. Players dealing a hand can expect a light-hearted, casual gameplay mode that has PvE at its core. As per the iconic Gwent, cards can be obtained while out exploring the wider world and players can go up against their friends or NPCs.
While HoyoYerse has not added a great deal more detail about the new game mode, preview images reveal that the decks will likely contain familiar characters, abilities, food, and more. We also know that these colorful cards will not be tied to any level of reward, so the fun is all about taking part. No definitive date has been set for Genius Invokation, with all available imagery labeled as a work in progress. However, version 3.3 is expected at the very start of December, so best get shuffling if you want to try out yet more new content. You can find out more about the Genshin twist on Gwent over at the official social channels now, and play for free on PC and mobile.
