Paradox Interactive has announced that Battletech will not be arriving as early as planned. The game was set to be released in late 2017, however, more time in the oven is needed. Players can look for the game in “early 2018”.
Battletech
The phrase “Early 2018” can mean anything from January 1st to March 31st. But it’s all good, isn’t it? We’d rather have a finished, polished game than one filled with bugs and broken components.
“Backers have been clear. ‘Don’t rush it, just make it great.’ We have taken that advice to heart.” said Jordan Weisman, CEO of Harebrained Schemes. “HBS, Paradox, and our Backers share a deeply personal attachment to this project. We are committed to delivering a game that meets the high expectations of our Backers and fans as well as brings it to a new generation.”
The good news is that those who are considered “backers” will get to check out the latest client. It comes with new features as well as a slew of improvements. The Backer Beta will be updated this week with a new patch that sports a number of new / improved features including balance changes, AI upgrades, UI enhancement and more. Developers have responded to players’ feedback. As a result, this patch is part of the solution to many identified issues. Future patches will continue improving the game and adding multiplayer PvP.
