Bohemia Interactive developers have provided the DayZ community with a peek into the future of the game throughout 2022. Players will be treated to five big updates, a slew of seasonal events, improved terrains, new assets, new firearms, and much more. In addition to new content, players can also expect balance fixes, improvements in stability, new content, and other quality of life improvements.
2022 plans include:
- Focus on improving official terrains, particularly the DLC map Livonia
- Improvements to vehicle stability
- Enriched seasonal events
- Expanding DayZ lore
- Adding more civilian firearms
- Ramping up asset production
- More customization to control scheme on controllers
All of these improvements will be done in cooperation with the game’s partners and community in order to maintain the performance and stability of the game. That includes ensuring that older generations of hardware are not left behind.
The 1.16 update has already been launched. It comes with a new firearm but “more importantly, it offers a wide variety of fixes and adjustments” that target balance and gameplay issues. This provides the framework for all of the upcoming 2022 content.
