Champion Shift just got its first hero teaser trailer, and this mashup of genres is dragging fantasy roguelikes into the future.
SRG studios just dropped a new look at Champion Shift and the game’s first hero Sun Wukong. The upcoming mix of cyberpunk dystopia and top-down roguelike action is coming sometime in 2023, but the new trailer tells us a little bit more about what to expect. Thrust into a world where The Dominion looms over everything, it’s up to players to go solo, or team up in co-op play to fight into the heart of the Dominion and destroy it from within.
The heroes of this title are certainly well equipped for this adventure. Sun Wukong is a mythical legend with the ability to change forms into a variety of different vehicles. Yep, you heard right. After the Dominion tried to summon and capture this legendary Champions of myth, revenge is now in order. Each champion has its own set of skills and abilities that you can use to decimate your foes. Sun can wield powerful Chakrams in Champion mode and the lethal Turbo Blades in Vehicle mode, among more. It’s an utterly leftfield mashup of ancient fantasy heroics and cybertronic game shifts. Cobbled together with a neon backdrops, pounding synth beats and an intense combat scenario, this is definitely worth keeping an eye on. Check out Champion Shift now on Steam.
