Core Keeper, an adorable new cooperative mining sandbox, has just swung into Steam Early Access.
The new subterranean free form adventure comes to Steam’s Early Access platform thanks to developer Pugstorm and publishing partner Fireshine Games. The publisher formerly known as Sold Out Games picked today to step into this launch after a successful Next Fest appearance last month, and it’s clear why.
Core Keeper is a 1-8 player experience set in an ancient cavern. Filled with secrets and dangers, this vast underground labyrinth is the perfect place to pick your tool and chip away at some rocky remnants. In amongst the dust, trinkets, materials, hidden crystals, fossils, and more rewards are buried. Each of these materials provides more than simple wealth. They will allow players to build a secure base of operations, craft items, construct railroads, and build armor to protect them in the darkest areas of any mine. In addition to this crafty way to play, miners will also need to plant seeds and nurture crops, grow food, and combine ingredients in the cooking pot to discover new recipes with powerful buffs.
With a fist full of snacks and a firm grip on a pickaxe, players will be able to explore living biomes, defeat giant monsters, and power up the core to uncover the secrets of an ancient world. If you adored the look of cute retro games like Eastward and Crypt of the Nerodancer but want something a bit more Minecraft then Core Keepers looks like a great choice. It is available on Steam Early Access with 10% off right now. Find out more and grab your shovel on the official Steam Store page.
