Dead By Daylight Patched with a New Game-Changing Update

Behaviour Interactive has deployed the latest update to Dead by Daylight, something the development team calls a “game-changing update”. According to the information posted to the DbD site, the patch comes as a result of “months of research” by developers on making the game fairer for all players regardless of time spent in the game. The goal is to make DbD as accessible to new players as it is to veterans.

Here’s some of what’s included in the most recent patch:

  • A new Progression system has been implemented that reduces progression by about 75% and allows players to experiment more easily with different characters and builds.
  • Several balance tweaks have been applied to Killers to make them feel like “unstoppable forces” in the game.
  • Killers will be able to break Walls, Pallets and damage Generators faster.
  • Killers’ basic attacks are now faster, thanks to a lower cooldown rate.
  • Perks have been overhauled, covering all 39 including those most used by Killers and Survivors.

Our community is at the center of everything we do,” explains Matthew Spriggens, Design Director for Dead by Daylight. “This is the most substantial update we have ever done, and it is all to better our game and the gaming experience. It’s a very intentional shake up, and we hope that this makes the Trials even more exhilarating.

In addition, the Discordance Tome is now available where players can enter a Discordance Rift to earn over 60 cosmetic items through both the Free and Premium tracks.
