Nintendo has announced that Donkey Kong Country 2 – Diddy Kong’s Quest is heading for Nintendo Switch and it’s coming along much sooner than you might imagine. Starting September 23, the classic Super NES game will be arriving via the Nintendo Switch Online program. Those with a membership can play as Diddy Kong or Dixie Kong as they set off to find out what has happened to Donkey Kong.
DKC2 joins other Super NES and NES titles as part of Nintendo Switch Online and are Nintendo’s effort to bring classic titles to a new generation of players around the world. Other titles in the series include:
- Mario’s Super Picross
- The Peace Keepers
- S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Super Metroid
- Super Mario Bros. 3
Nintendo Switch Online offers players several bonuses for membership which runs $3.99 per month or $19.99 for a year’s subscription. Players can play online with friends, check out classic games, enjoy cloud saves, utilize a smartphone app, and receive special offers for members only.
