ESO Console Editions to Receive Markarth a Bit Early

Bethesda has great news for ESO players. The company has announced that the console edition of Elder Scrolls Online will be updated with the Markarth and Update 28 patch a full day earlier than originally planned. Developers wrote that they will be releasing the new content later today (November 9th) to “get ahead of the new next-gen console launches”.

Markarth is the latest DLC game pack that is part of ESO Plus or that can be purchased from the in-game shop for Crowns. It includes the finale of the Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline. “Reveal the Vampire Lord Rada al-Saran’s true motivations in bonus quests for the year-long Dark Heart of Skyrim’s final chapter.” The storyline unlocks only to players that have completed the Greymoor Chapter’s story.

Players will set off to explore the Reach and will face off against “fearsome clans” that call it home. Along the way, they’ll explore the city of Markarth and “venture into the hidden depths of Blackreach’s Arkthzand Cavern”.

A new solo arena, Vateshran Hollows, is part of the new content as well. Players can test their “strength, wits, and resolve with challenging bosses, multiple unlockable paths, and powerful, hidden secrets that can help you claim the honored title of Spiritblood Champion”.

All players will receive Update 28 for free including:

  • Two new zones to explore: the Reach and Arkthzand Caverns
    • Packed full of new quests, characters, and challenges
  • The conclusion to the Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline
  • New rewards, including item sets, Achievements, and collectibles
  • A new solo arena: Vateshran Hollows
  • The new Item Set Collection system
  • New quality-of-life improvements
