Darkpaw Games Head of Studio Jennifer Chan has posted an update to the EverQuest II 2022 roadmap. Principally, Chan revealed that the first game update of the year will be launching on April 12th. In addition, the newest Time-Locked Expansion server will be named Varsoon and will launch on April 24th. She also announced three new LGBTQIA+ patchwork critters will celebrate Pride and be available to players beginning on June 3rd. Lastly, Chan revealed that the 64-bit conversion will be headed out the gate in July.
We are coming upon our first game update for 2022, GU 119, which we’re proud to announce its name: “Coffers and Coffins”. EverQuest® II Coffers and Coffins will be available on live servers April 12th, 2022. This update will feature content for all play styles, including season 4 of Overseer and some much-requested changes to the Overseer minigame. You can expect to see new heroic dungeons, new collections, raids, and tradeskill content in the Coffers and Coffins game update. The open beta starts today!
It’s also worth noting that Chan and her team are already working on EQ2’s 19th expansion. They have determined the story outline, and the environment team has started core layouts, and characters are in the works. There are plans to reveal more about the expansion over the course of the coming months.
