Dig in and head to the great outdoors when Farmside joins the Apple Arcade library on 17 February.

Launching into Apple’s online gaming subscription service,  farming sim Farmside will hit mobile screens on 17 February. The new addition to Apple’s gaming subscription might not be a big budget shadow drop but this adorable management sim is certainly worth some time out of the morning commute.

Developed by Topia Studios and published by Team 17, the same outfit behind Honey I Joined a Cult, this new dig and dream title will allow players to build their own Farmville. Putting the pitch fork in, they will sow and harvest fertile soil to grow orchards filled with fruit. Animals are important, so they will need to be tended, all so these burgeoning businesses can fulfil the local town’s demands.

The free form play space should allow anybody with their own tractor to build a farm the way they want, placing everything from fields and buildings to machinery exactly how and where they want. There’s even the option to decorate this new homestead with lots of dazzling unlockable additions. Like Nintendo’s Animal Crossing, anybody playing this will be able to pop by their friends creations to, completing challenging multiplayer farm tasks to earn rare cosmetics. While that element is due to come post launch, there should be plenty for all ages to do while getting the farm up and running.

Farmside will join over 200 exclusive and premium titles in Apple’s mobile gaming service. No, it’s not quite as expansive as the Xbox Game Pass but it includes a range of games you can be sure will play brilliantly on your iOS device and won’t come full of free-to-play monetization. Check out the fun new farming sim over on the Farmside website now.
