The first Drop Pod update has been dropped and it brings some ranked changes and faster load times with it. These improvements should make fans of the game happy at least.
Senior community manager for Halo Infinite John Junyszek confirmed on June 15th that the patch was ready to go. 343 Studios said that these pods are a mid-season quality of life update that will occur every so often.
The ranked update is a pretty big update. Now new players will have to compete in at least 25 matches in a playlist to open up the ranked lobbies. All of your fireteam members will need to be within a certain rank to participate in these matches as well.
There are now some menu upgrades that will make load times faster for players as well. It makes it quicker to swap from battle pass, to challenge, to shop menus. While it may not be as apparent on big gaming systems, it should be noticeably different on lower-end PCs.
Another big update is to the light and medium vehicles. Every one of them except for the Scorpion and the Wraith has had their durability levels increased making them harder to destroy. The Scorpion has had its steering controls adjusted a bit so you will see a bit of a difference there. The ping has also been fixed so that it isn’t so game-breaking anymore.
With #HaloInfinite campaign network co-op arriving later this year, we're planning to flight it to Halo Insiders in July. Register and make sure your Halo Insider profile is up to date for a chance to participate!
