How to Enhance your Smartphone for a Better Gaming Experience

Smartphone Gaming

Nowadays, mobile smartphone gaming is bigger than it has ever been before. Long gone are the days of Snake being the most advanced game you can play; we now have a plethora of AAA titles like Call of Duty and Fortnite to choose from.

However, if you want to take part in some mobile casino gaming or play a few rounds of COD with your mates and your phone isn’t keeping up, here are some ways to improve its performance for gaming.

Delete Unnecessary Apps

The first thing you need to do is to uninstall all the unnecessary apps on your phone. Depending on how long you have had your device, you have probably collected a dozen apps you thought you would need that you haven’t used once.

These apps are taking up space and CPU power and taking this away from the games you want to play. Delete them and all their data to free up storage space and allow your phone to focus power on what you need.

Delete All Unneeded Data

Once you have deleted all the apps you don’t need, go through your phone and delete all the data you haven’t touched. Most people are guilty of having a photo gallery jam-packed with images and photos that they don’t need or care about anymore.

This also applies to videos and music; take 10 or 15 minutes and delete all the photos and videos you don’t need anymore, and then transfer the ones you want to keep onto your laptop, tablet, or another device.

Adjust Your Refresh Rate

Many modern-day smartphones give you the ability to adjust your phone’s refresh rate. While changing your screen refresh rate won’t make any noticeable difference when texting or watching videos, your games will look better than they ever have before.

Everything from the graphics to the character movements will look smoother and crisper and will instantly enhance the look and feel of any game you are playing.

Use Discord for Chat

A small adjustment that will make a massive difference is to use Discord for team chat. Most mobile games will have voice chat options, but they are often reasonably mediocre as they are usually added as an afterthought.

Instead, download Discord and use their chat overlay as a way to communicate with your friends. The app is small; the interface is very gamer-friendly and easy to use and is perfect for gaming on a smaller screen.

Purchase a Large External Battery

The last thing you want to do when playing a game is to see that you have a low battery and no need to run to find your charging cable or wall outlet. Instead, buy a large external battery that will keep your phone and game going.

These batteries are also often fast-charging, meaning you can take a quick break from gaming but be back on with a full battery in an hour.

Use a Controller

Many companies have begun creating and selling controllers for mobile gaming. These controllers resemble PlayStation and Xbox controllers and give you far more control over any game you may play, from racing titles to first-person shooters.

These controllers are particularly useful for games such as Call of Duty or League of Legends, which require a lot of control and constant actions.

Play on Your TV

Screen mirroring is a very underutilized aspect of mobile gaming. Many smartphones have the option to connect to your TV and let you mirror the screens. This is incredible for mobile gaming, as a small screen can be frustrating.

Samsung TVs and phones connect almost automatically, with almost all Samsung Smart TVs having multiple screen mirroring options.

Improve Your Internet Speed

Finally, this may sound silly, but if you are struggling with lag or something similar, you may want to upgrade your internet. This is a reasonable improvement to make as it will be cheaper than buying a new device or gaming system.

You also don’t have to upgrade to the best line possible; many companies will often upgrade for a discounted price if you are an existing customer, and bumping your line up to a better speed will usually only cost a little bit extra a month.
