Jumplight Odyssey Warps Into Early Access on 21 August

Jumplight Odyssey, the spectacular new space adventure form League of Geeks, is blasting into Early Access on 21 August.

If you missed the initial reveal for League of Geeks’ new Saturday morning space adventure, then don’t worry. There’s still time to strap in ahead of the game’s Early Access launch. We now know that players eager to get into the great unknown will be able to grab the game via Early Access on 21 August. The developer behind the acclaimed Armello confirmed the news over the weekend, and while we don’t know exactly how much it will set you back, this is undoubtedly going to be a massive nostalgia trip for a certain vintage.

Jumplight Odyssey takes players on a unique spaceship adventure starring Princess Euphora, the commander of the SDF Catalina. This new adventure joins her as she navigates between systems and searches for the fabled Forever Star. All the while, Euphora and her band of explorers will need to outwit Admiral Voltan and the dangerous Zutopans. If this sounds familiar, then you’ll likely love the presentation of this game. Jumplight leans into the likes of Ulysses 31, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Galaxy Rangers, and a ton more Saturday morning cartoon adventures. Expect plenty of animated space lasers to shoot across the screen.

players will have to do more than run and fight. The crew are an essential part of this story, and throughout this tale expect the people on board each ship to go about their lives, eating, sleeping, working, and surviving. Your crew interact with each other as brothers, sisters, lovers, friends and rivals. Hopefully a little less of the latter, but we’re not making any promises. The ship itself must accommodate domestic drama, meaning you’ll get to expand, build, and upgrade your fleet as you proceed. This colony management looks likely to go deep and give us more than a space based tactical battle. Think closer to Two Point Campus than EvE.

If you want to know more about what’s coming, then you can check out more on the official Steam Store Page. While we will have Steam Early Access imminently, console versions are coming later, so keep an eye on the skies, or Gamespace.
