Is esports actually sports? This question has sparked controversy ever since the term has been used for the first time. If a sportsman doesn’t break a sweat, is it correct to use the term “athlete”? Who would want to watch people play “fantasy football” over real football? These questions and many others were asked of representatives of the gaming community in an attempt to prove that esports cannot be, in fact, called sports and professional gamers are not athletes.
Riot Games has published a new video that shows off many of the questions and jabs that were thrown at esports as well as the video from the latest League of Legends’ events. Previously the company has also published a video to cheer up new players. You can find it below.
