Peek Behind the Frostpunk 2 Curtain as Its Limited Weeklong Beta Begins

11 bit studios is giving fans a peek behind the Frostpunk 2 curtain thanks to the release of a new developer vlog. In this episode, the game’s co-directors offer insight into some of the biggest changes coming to fans with the sequel to the epic first game. In addition, viewers will get an extended gameplay preview that gives a visual to what devs are describing. Those looking forward to playing FP2 will be happy to hear that the release date is just around the corner on July 25th.

In addition to the developer vlog, players who have already purchased a Deluxe Edition of the game are enjoying a weeklong preview. From now through April 22nd, players can check out a portion of “sandbox mode,” aka Utopia Builder. This game mode is enriched with a stunning narrative that surpasses the original. The emphasis in FP2 is not to “make a bigger blizzard than in the first one,” but to focus on shaping society.

Players take on the role of the Steward, with the sole goal of forming a council from disparate factions. It’s quite the job! During the beta preview, players will be able to preview this narrative and work to navigate societal complexities to be successful.
