Bethesda has announced that Fallout 76 is free to play from Tuesday, October 4th through Tuesday, October 11th. Anyone can download and play the game celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the original Fallout game. Any progress made during the week’s gameplay will be retained should a player choose to purchase the game.
Developers also have plans to provide great reasons to celebrate the award-winning franchise throughout October. Sales and giveaways are front and center as are special features and community content.
In addition to the free play week, players can also earn rewards via Prime Gaming and Xbox Game Pass. From now through November 1st, Prime Gaming Subscribers can take home Fallout 76 for free on PC/Windows. That’s one helluva Prime Gaming Reward! Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy a free month of the premium subscription play, Fallout 1st. This offer is available to claim through October 24th.
The community is heavily involved in the celebration as well. “There are numerous groups, organizations, cults and plain ol’ gangs that call their slice of Fallout’s world home. That’s why we developed the Post-Apocalyptic Loyalty Simulator, or P.A.L.S., quest-ionnaire to help you find which post-nuclear faction suits you. Find where you belong in Fallout and share with your friends!”
Even Bethesda’s mobile game Fallout Shelter is joining in the fun. The team has plans to add new, free content to the game for the first time in over four years. There will be an all-new quest line with new enemies, and more. There’s no ETA for the launch of the update but the devs have plans to reveal more soon.
