As Korean Times reports, the two largest Battle Royale titles continue butting heads for their place under the sun. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds had been breaking world records in popularity and number of concurrent users last year. The game has even brokenĀ 7 Guinness World Records! However, Fortnite Battle Royale is nothing to sneeze at. The game has started slower than its competitor but has gained quite a momentum over the year and continues to grow and step on PUBG Corp’s toes.
Now PUBG Corp has filed a lawsuit against Epic Games on the basis of alleged copyright violation done by Fortnite. The suit is based around Fortnite being originally released only featuring Save the World co-op mode. However, later the game has been expended with the free-to-play Battle Royale version, “provoking a plagiarism controversy and allegations that it copied “Battlegrounds” items and user interface”.
