RuneScape Goes Point and Click for Fort Forinthry Update

RuneScape Goes Point and Click for Fort Forinthry Update - murder in the banquet hall

RuneScape is about to go all point and click when it heads to Fort Forinthry on 20 March.

Jagex has just announced that its absolutely massive MMORPG is about to take a very different turn this month. The world of GELINIOR(SP) is about to go all Sam and Max when it launches a 90s inspired point and click mystery. Fort Forinthry: Murder on the Border is just the latest update to the current season of this online quest, but it looks likely to introduce a whole new way to play.

Carrying on the recent Fort Forinthry: New Foundations storyline, the latest chapter in this tale finds players invited by King Roald to dine in celebration of the Fort Forinthry’s construction. Any hope that the event goes well is dashed by the addition of the party’s surprise guest, murder! Players will team up with the affable wannabe-detective steward, Aster, to prevent the kingdom from descending into chaos. Along the way, you’ll use a new Clue interface to click through the chapter to reveal unusual information, character profiles, and deduce who dunnit, with what, and where. Ok it’s hardly Cluedo, but you get the idea.

Before you serve up a mystery, players will need a kitchen. This isn’t a metaphor. Eager sleuths will need to use their construction skill to build the kitchen. This new cooking hub can even be upgraded after the quest for an array of bonuses such as decreased chance of burning food, access to a cooking supply shop, and cooking XP boosts. While this long running title might not be an action combat experience like Guild Wars 2 or Lost Ark, this is an unexpected way to wield your mouse buttons in any MMO. Who knows, maybe Jager’s MMORPG will get its own Friend’s Detective Agency. For now, you can find out more about Fort Forinthry: Murder on the Border on the official RuneScape website.
