Leonardo Production, the developers of the upcoming single-player story-driven deck builder Shattered Heaven, is back with another dev diary. After outlining the trio of characters, the dungeon exploration and the progression systems, the team focuses on the overall setting of the game and its world of ashes.
“Every ten years, four girls – each one from a different Land – are bound to manifest incredible powers that grant them the ability to overcome incredible, inhuman feats. These maidens gain the title of holy Vestal, and they are immediately tasked with fighting – and winning – the recurrent War of the Ascension. Without a choice, they are burdened with the weight of the world.”
These chosen ones are protected by their Guardians and are bound to gather at the center of the known world: the Equinox Cathedral. The four Vestals are to face one perilous trials after the other, in which they will risk everything for the chance to save their people from extinction.
Merchants and craftspeople, sent by their tribes, populate the lower dwellings of the Cathedral, living together in an environment where the four peoples meet but never mingle, for too great is the distrust among them. When the time comes to make a choice, where will you stand?
