The second episode of WoW Classic with the Creators is out and about. This time, Aaron Keller, one of the game’s original designers, speaks about his experiences as the designer and builder of many of the game’s early cities.
Keller remembers all the dungeons and cities being on a whiteboard. Developers went around and chose what they wanted to build. No one, Keller says, was picking cities. So he started off with taking the Stormwind project and keep choosing the game’s other cities.
When Stormwind was finished and inserted into the company’s internal build of the game, Keller cued entry into the city to start playing Starship’s We Built This City. Pretty soon, he remembers, the song was playing all over the office.
It’s a great way to get ready for Monday’s release of World of Warcraft Classic. Do yourself a favor and take 90 seconds out of your day and check it out!
