Our sister site MMORPG.com is reporting that Conan Exiles has just posted a brand new update to the game. Custom mods and the Steam Workshop are now open for the game’s more creative players. Let’s hope no one takes the dong slide any further than it is now…
Perhaps more importantly, Funcom also revealed that they will be on the road to GDC and PAX East to share the game with press and players alike, as well as teasing the new content and features coming to the Early Access title in coming months.
From the Funcom head honcho Rui Casais:
“We are deeply humbled and very grateful for the initial success of Conan Exiles,” says Funcom CEO Rui Casais. “Funcom has gone through some challenging times in recent years and seeing the game we have poured so much time and effort into gain this amount of traction so quickly is very invigorating for everyone who works here. This is just the start of the Early Access adventure and we will do whatever it takes to make sure Conan Exiles turns into a fully-fledged game that has something to offer new and old fans of both Conan and survival games.”
Our take on the future of Conan Exiles?
There’s an undeniable fun to games like Conan Exiles, but what’s going to be key for Funcom is whether or not they can deliver on the many features planned that will set this game apart from the many others so similar in the genre. It’s a success on steam for now, and probably will sell boatloads on consoles when it lands there. But can it keep the momentum going? That’s what we’ll see at GDC and PAX. Here’s hoping there are plans for more biomes, more items, more social features, and the like. Keep on the wheel, Funcom!
