NIS has announced that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is coming to PlayStation 5 on 15 November 2022.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA the incredible JRPG from Nihon Falcom that wowed fans back in 2016, is finally making its way onto the PlayStation 5 console. Originally released for the PS Vita back in 2016 and then eventually ported to the PlayStation 4 console, we now know that this high scoring adventure will hit PlayStation 5 consoles on 15 November 2022.
One of many instalments in the Ys series of JRPGs, this title puts players into the role of Adol. After surviving a shipwreck and waking on sturdier shores, the central protagonist is stranded on a cursed island. While anybody that didn’t drown tries to survive, Adol begins to dream of a blue harried maiden and the mysteries of this deadly land begin to unfold. Along the way , adventurers will build a party of explorers, switching between them on the fly, and slowly improving their power through combat, craft, and equipment improvements. Each of these companions brings their own playstyle and personality to the tale, eventually uncovering a terrible secret and a world shattering event that could destroy humanity. Unfortunately, NIS has not confirmed exactly what improvements PS5 owners can expect, but a rebadge like this one would at least expect improved load times and graphics for next gen consoles. We do know, however, that owners will get all previously released cosmetic DLC from the PS4™ and PS Vita version with the latest release.
