Prepare to go fast and go mobile as Rocket League Sideswipe Season 5 begins today.
ON the go and scoring goals, Rocket League Sideswipe turns the key on Season 5 of this mobile experience. Players across iOS and Android can strap in and experience a whole new theme, grab a custom Rocket Pass, and take on a ton of Season 5 challenges when they aren’t busy in ranked mode.
After launching on the small screen back in late 2021, Rocket League Sideswipe has opened up this hugely popular car come soccer esport to an even bigger audience. Now this mobile onramp for the Rocket League series is around a year older and in its fifth season. Players used to this cyclical set of updates will get an entirely new look this time, with futuristic-themed content such as the Chikara G1 Car and Holo Data Goal Explosion.
Developer Psyonix has also included the usual mix of challenges and time limited game modes. Between now and the end of Season 5, players can play to earn XP and SP, as well as plunging into the high-flying 2v2 Volleyball Mode. This game type will replace Hoops, and Season 4 rewards are being distributed today.
If you didn’t spot the launch of this mobile madness, then you’ve been missing out on small screen version of Rocket League that’s just as difficult to master at the top tiers. Taking things into a side on view and asking players to tap and swipe their way across a pitch, Rocket League Sideswipe is devastating simple idea but once you pick a car, customize it and try to punt an oversized soccer ball around the screen, you’ll find it’s just as skillful as the console version.
