Albion Online's Crystal Raiders Update Brings "Might"y Big Changes

Sandbox Interactive has announced the release of the Crystal Raiders update for its signature MMO, Albion Online. The update brings a number of significant feature updates, new additions, and big changes to Might.

Developers believe that seeing is believing. To that end, they have released an all-new trailer that shines the spotlight on the update by providing a peek into the most prominent changes to the game.

Notable features of Crystal Raiders

  • Territory Raiding: Developers have added this brand new system that they believe will bring additional depth and complexity to territory control. Guilds can raid and steal Siphoned Energy without any announcement. The team believes that this “ensures larger guilds don’t get too comfortable with territory defense.” Raids cost less and “encourage spontaneous, asymmetric fights” between guilds.
  • Crystal weapons are powerful and crafted from Artifacts that are awarded at the end of every Guild Season.
    • Infinity Blade (Sword): Delivers a double charge-up strike that devastates foes
    • Rift Glaive (Spear): Deals massive damage while piercing through crowds
    • Astral Staff (Arcane Staff): Rains a shower of deadly stars down on enemies
  • The Conqueror’s Challenge has been reworked to offer a more dynamic reward system that encourages active participation in Guild Seasons.
  • Territory and Hideout changes bring new challenges and rewards each Guild Season. This includes a fourth invasion day, shorter prime times, and improved attack warnings. The cost to attack Hideouts depends on their age. Other significant alterations for the system are worth checking out in the update notes.
  • A Daily Might Bonus is now included.
  • Tracking Targets have expanded with new elite targets based on enemy factions.
  • A combat balance update has been deployed to keep “PvP and PvE metas fresh, fair, and fun.”
