Aquatico Is About To Make A Splash In Version 1.0

No Need To Hold Your Breath, Aquatico is finally here in its full launch mode. Version 1.0 of the underwater city sim arrives on Steam and Epic Games Store today. Fans of modern management games like City Skylines and Let’s Build a Zoo can head off into the costal waters to take on a unique challenge in a far flung future. The launch of Version 1.0 plunge players into a world where the Earth’s surface became a barren and inhospitable wasteland. Now it’s up to us to build a new utopia on the ocean floor.

Taking at least a little inspiration from survival sims like Frostpunk, the ocean depths bring some unique challenges. The underwater setting of this construction work will play a significant role when taking on tasks. The ocean life that crawls, swims, floats, and stings shouldn’t be upset or endangered. You want to be friends, not food. Other factors, such as population density, oxygen levels, and terrain must be navigated. A range of different biomes are even on offer, each with their own temperatures and depth pressures.

In order to survive these issues and keep the population alive, city mayors can use layered construction techniques to build up and out. There’s plenty of natural resources that can be mined, processed, and delivered to mechanized working robots toiling away on the rocky depths. These materials must be located and extracted , however. So, if you think a particular part of the population isn’t being grateful for your efforts then you can always send some of them out into the oceanic depths to scout and secure resources. Whether they make it back out of that trench alive is simply happenstance right ?

If you think you’ve got what it takes to survive then Aquatico has left the Early Access training lane and makes its way into open waters today. You’ll find out everything that’s new and be able to find out what’s in store on the official website now.

For those of you who I’ve not met yet, my name is Ed. After an early indoctrination into PC gaming, years adrift on the unwashed internet, running a successful guild, and testing video games, I turned my hand to writing about them. Now, you will find me squawking across a multitude of sites and even getting to play games now and then
