BattleBit Remastered Takes Low Poly Nonsense to the Top Of Steams Charts

BattleBit Remastered players run across a desert

BattleBit Remastered just launched into Ealy Access and this low poly FPS is currently Steam’s top selling game.

High fidelity, incredible attention to detail, and historical accuracy can get in the bin it seems. BattleBit Remastered is a low poly multiplayer FPS that just launched Early Acces on Steam, and it’s outselling some of Steam’s biggest names right now. Having hit digital storefronts on 15 June 2023, it’s only taken a few days for this title to amass 44830 concurrent players and create vast swathes of social media hype thanks to its very different take on the established run and gun norms.

Still entrenched firmly in the modern combat sim scenario, this server-based encounter plunges up to 254 players into a scenario that might look a little more like Minecraft than Modern Warfare. The low poly count and blocky façade don’t seem to aim for anything but fun. There’s a class based character system, meaning you’ll pick from Assault, Medic, Engineer, Support, and Recon roles. These characters can jump in a range of available vehicles, from tanks, helicopters, transports, and sea vehicles, all while wielding more than 45 different weapons. The near-fully destructible map and proximity voice comms make this a lot more unpredictable than a traditional battlefield, and it seems like everybody involved in this game’s massive battles love it.

BattleBit Remastered owners don’t appear to be that concerned with the horrors of pixelated warfare and are more likely to be heard pleading with a healer tell their mom they love them before their blocky body goes still. From roleplay to silly suicide runs, BattleBit Remastered sems to be bringing the fun back to the modern combat shooter. You can have a look at what’s coming from this Early Access title via the official Steam website and grab it for £12.79 or local equivalent.
