EA has announced that Season 3: Escalation has officially launched in Battlefield 2042. Players will find a host of new content in the game, including the new Core Battle Pass that offers 100 tiers of Specialist weapons, cosmetics, and more to unlock. Players can also purchase the Premium Pass that allows them to unlock additional cosmetic items.
The new Spearhead map is set in the untamed Swedish wilderness. Players will have to work their way through semi-automated facilities with high-tech weaponry. Close-quarters combat and smart tactical decisions will be required in order to be victorious.
Season 3 also introduces players to new weapons that will change the face of any fight. The Rorsch Mk-4 Railgun offers multiple firing modes with a caveat: Players must master its charging times to make the best use of this weapon. The NVK-S22 Smart Shotgun is a compact semi-automatic shotgun perfect for close-quarters combat. Alternately, the NVK-P125 Bullpup Pistol is designed for long-distance shooting. Lastly, players preferring stealthy attacks will be happy to hear that Throwing Knives are now part of the mix.
The new Specialist is Rasheed Zain, who comes with his awesome XM370A Airburst Rifle. This specialized weapon is designed to flush opponents from cover. He’s a frontline dynamo who recovers quickly and recharges his health after taking damage.
Players will also enjoy driving the new EMKV90-TOR Tank. It has multiple modes that allow players to move quickly in Mobility Mode. However, Siege Mode allows players to dish out damage slower.
Lastly, Season 3: Escalation also brings new Assignments that offer players the opportunity to earn more Vault Weapons, such as the XM8 LMG and A-91, with even more to come in the future Season 3 updates.
