The publisher behind the likes of Worms and Moving Out just dropped a trailer and release details for a new VR puzzler called Border Bots VR.
Dog? Pig? Loaf of bread? It’s the captcha to catch all AI out, probably. Now it’s up to you to overcome the last few tasks that an Ai can’t handle in team17 and Paw Print games’ new VR puzzler. Alongside vTime games, tis duo announced that Border Bots VR is set to launch on PlayStation VR2 and Steam VR on 28 September, with Meta Quest 2 releases coming shortly afterwards. The news dropped alongside the title’s first gameplay trailer, giving us a first hand look at our far-flung future.
In Border Bots VR, players pulling on a headset like the Vive Elite XR or other compatible headsets will take the role of a flesh bag in a robotic world. The lighthearted robot led future means life as a human border agent be interesting. You’ll try to climb the corporate ladder by detecting unauthorised items and turn away anyone without the correct paperwork. Along the way you can utilise a variety of quirky gadgets, including a 3D printer, barcode scanner and contraband detector, to interact with a host of friendly assistant AI and mechanical denizens. Sounds like a slightly more comedic take on Papers Please.
The new trailer gives us a look at the quirky fun filled future of human captchas and momentous button bashing that awaits, but what you get up to under the close eye of your robotic overlords is down to you.
