Dead Cells Goes To Castlevania in a New DLC

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania is a new DLC and it adds an iconic backdrop to this seminal title.

Dead Cells, the wildly successful rogue-lite metroidvania from Motion Twin is heading to a spooky setting in a massive tribute to an entire genre, Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania twists together the aforementioned title with Castlevania. The new DLC, titled Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania went live last night. Now fans of both series can explore every inch of Dracula’s Castle in a brand-new way. The ambitious DLC, which adds numerous new weapons, enemies and three deadly bosses – all in a bombastic and unprecedented Castlevania mashup – is available today for $9.99 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch. It dropped, alongside a new trailer, which you can see above.

The new trailer shows off a bunch of the extra updates, Players will be able retread their course through the halls of this dangerous setting, with every corridor, bridge and balcony recreated in the signature Dead Cells art style. While there’s plenty of time to sightsee and swap stories, plenty of new danger lurks. Dracula, Medusa and Death himself wait for you as you steer 20 of the Castlevania characters through this new interpretation. A ton of new unlocks should help., however. New loot and a new pet are also crammed into this love letter. There are even 51 original Castlevania songs that can be played anywhere in the game, plus 12 of the most famous tracks re-made in the style of Dead Cells for the DLC levels.
